The Virgin Islands Department of Health runs its St. Croix Community Health and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) clinics from the second floor of the former Caribe Home Center at Castle Coakley, where they reopened in June 2024 after repairs. The department's old Charles Harwood Memorial Complex in Estate Richmond, damaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, has been demolished, and a new health center on that site is slated for completion in 2028. Community Health offers primary care and adult medicine, including diabetes and hypertension care, and adult vaccines. The department says its services are open to everyone regardless of income, with a sliding fee scale, and flu vaccines are free for uninsured and underinsured residents. The MCH clinic gives children's vaccinations. The Department of Education's registration page still names the Charles Harwood clinic for St. Croix school health clearances, so call the MCH clinic to confirm where to go.
