Frederiksted Health Care, Ingeborg-Nesbitt Clinic

The Ingeborg-Nesbitt Clinic on Strand Street is the primary site of Frederiksted Health Care, Inc., a nonprofit federally qualified health center created in 2000 that runs three health centers on St. Croix. FHC provides adult primary care, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, dental care, psychiatry and behavioral health counseling, and it says no one is denied care because of inability to pay. Its sliding fee program can reduce a bill by 25, 50 or 75 percent based on income and family size. Patients apply with proof of income, photo ID and a bill showing their mailing address, and must reapply every calendar year. The clinic stays open until 7 pm from Monday to Wednesday and opens on Saturdays, but on the third Friday of each month it opens only in the afternoon.
