Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center is St. Croix's acute care hospital, and its website says it is the only one on the island. Founded in 1982, it is a 52-bed, semi-autonomous institution that operates with public support under independent governance. Its listed services cover emergency and critical care, general medicine and specialties such as cardiology and nephrology, several types of surgery, diagnostic imaging, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric care and neonatal care, along with rehabilitation and wound care. For new residents, it is the main place for emergency and inpatient care on St. Croix. The hospital is at Estate Diamond Ruby, and besides its main number it lists a separate scheduling line, +1 (340) 772-7343. Its website also has pages on medical records, financial assistance and patient pricing.
