Rooftops

Rooftops, a roofing contractor and supply company headquartered on St. Croix, also runs a St. Thomas location in Estate Bovoni with its own phone line. The company says it was founded in 1970. Its website lists installation and repair of metal, tile, flat, wood shake and fluid-applied membrane roofs, silicone coatings for waterproofing and restoration, regular inspections and emergency repairs, and project management for permits, budgets and timelines. A Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs license covers roofing service, retail sales and metal manufacturing at the Bovoni location. Buyers looking at a house with an older roof can ask for an inspection and a written estimate before closing. Ask too how the roof will be fastened for hurricane winds, how the gutters and cistern will be protected during the job, and whether the work needs a DPNR building permit.
