The St. Croix District of the Virgin Islands Department of Education runs the island's public schools, and says its 1,043 employees serve more than 5,100 students from Pre-K through 12th grade. School assignment follows a redistricting map, posted for 2026-27, that shows which school serves each residential area, so check it before choosing a home. Children must be 4 by December 31 for Granny Pre-K and 5 by December 31 for kindergarten. A parent or guardian registers the child in person with original documents, including a birth certificate, a Social Security card, photo ID, school records, an immunization card and a health clearance from the Department of Health clinic. Owners prove their address with a deed, closing statement, tax receipt or WAPA bill; renters need a signed lease plus a WAPA bill, government document or rent receipt.

The address and phone are the department's St. Croix office as listed on the site; it publishes no separate street address for the district or its registration office. VIDE lists Lew Muckle PreK-6 School at the same street number with Estate Sion Farm, so no area is set. VIDE names the Charles Harwood Health Clinic for St. Croix health clearances, but the Department of Health moved its St. Croix MCH and Community Health clinics to the former Caribe Home Center at Castle Coakley in 2024 (https://doh.vi.gov/st-croix-mch-community-health-clinics-to-reopen-at-caribe-home-center-on-monday-june-17/).
