Gifft Hill School

Gifft Hill School is an independent, nonprofit school that has taught students on St. John since 1978. It serves toddlers through Grade 12 from St. John and St. Thomas, with an Early Learning Center for ages 2 to 4, primary, intermediate and middle grades, and a high school, on an Upper Campus and a Lower Campus. The school reports 186 students, an average class size of 11 and a 7 to 1 student-faculty ratio. Enrollment for 2026-2027 opened on March 1, 2026, through an online admissions portal with an application fee. New applicants provide records from their previous school, except for the Early Learning Center, along with a teacher reference, then have an interview, a tour and placement testing as needed, by video call if they live off island. Admission decisions are need blind, and financial aid is applied for separately through FACTS. Small classes mean applications can outnumber places.
