Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy

The Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy, known as VIMSIA, is a nonprofit independent school on Vessup Lane, St. Thomas, founded in 1964. It teaches children from 12 months old through Grade 12 in three stages: the La Casa program for ages 12 months to 3 years, a Montessori program for ages 3 to 11, and International Baccalaureate programs for Grades 6 to 12. The school says it is accredited by the Middle States Association from Toddler through Grade 12 and by the Association Montessori Internationale for its Primary classrooms, and that it has been an IB World School for Grades 6 to 12 since 2008. To enroll, families complete the online application and pay a non-refundable application fee. Requirements vary by grade, and a place is secured by returning the school's contract with an advance deposit. The Admissions Director answers questions by email or phone.
