VI SNUBA Excursions guides SNUBA dives at Trunk Bay on St. John. SNUBA lets people who are not certified divers breathe underwater through a 20-foot hose from an air tank on a surface raft. Guests meet their guide behind the snorkel rental shop, practice in waist-deep water, then follow the guide over a reef at the west end of the beach. The outing takes two to three hours, with 30 to 40 minutes underwater and a maximum depth of 20 feet. Divers must be at least 8 and in good health; the waiver lists conditions that rule people out. Tours start at 11 a.m. on weekdays, by reservation. As of October 2026, the National Park Service charges a $5 Trunk Bay fee for ages 16 and up, with no cash accepted; parking is limited. Cancelling within 48 hours costs half the price, and within 24 hours the full price.
