St. Thomas Dive Center is a PADI dive shop at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort on the southeast side of St. Thomas. Its boat, Letts Dive, a 28-foot vessel inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard that carries up to 12 passengers, leaves from the dock outside the shop. Two-tank dives leave at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with check-in 30 minutes earlier, and return around 11:45 a.m. and 4 p.m.; the day's weather decides which reefs and wrecks to visit. Gear, water and candy are included, instructors dive with every group, and night dives can be arranged. Discover Scuba Diving is open to anyone 10 or older who completes a PADI medical questionnaire, and courses run through Rescue Diver, with PADI eLearning for the classroom part. After more than two years without diving, a refresher is recommended. All dives and classes need an advance reservation, and parking is free.
