St. George Village Botanical Garden covers 16 acres of Estate St. George, where more than 1,000 Caribbean and tropical plants and trees grow among the ruins and reused buildings of a Danish colonial sugar plantation listed on the National Register of Historic Places. ArbNet accredits it as a Level 2 arboretum. A museum in a restored cottage from the estate's village of enslaved workers traces 2,000 years of the site's history, and the garden keeps a herbarium of more than 6,000 specimens and a seed bank. The St. Croix Seashell Society runs a seashell museum in the Great Hall. The garden is open daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., except Christmas. As of October 2026, admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and military and $2 for children under 10; Virgin Islands residents pay $10, or $8 for seniors, with children under 10 free. Self-guided tour maps are online.
