The Grange is a historic estate and former sugar plantation in central St. Croix with ties to Alexander Hamilton's family. According to the estate, Hamilton's relatives James and Ann Lytton first built it in 1733, and Hamilton's mother, Rachel Faucett Lavien, was married there and is buried on the property. As of October 2026, the estate offers a tour with a historical guide for $10.50 and a self-guided property tour for $5, each listed at one hour and booked on its website. GoToStCroix lists the guided tour Wednesday to Saturday at 10 a.m. and puts it at about 45 minutes. Stairs lead into the great house and the grounds are uneven, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The estate also hosts weddings and private events.
