Dorsch Beach

Dorsch Beach is a stretch of soft white sand south of Frederiksted on St. Croix's West End, with views of the Frederiksted Pier and the sunset. Drive south from town on Veterans Shore Drive; past the fish market and boat launch, park along the road. The beach has no public facilities, but palms and sea grape trees give shade. Next door, Sand Castle on the Beach sells a limited number of day passes from 9 a.m. ($40 per person as of October 2026), with chairs, umbrellas, restrooms, showers and pool use; children under 16 may not use the pools. The water is usually calm for swimming. The bottom is mostly sand, so snorkeling is limited to small rocky patches. Locals fill the beach on weekends and holidays; weekdays are quiet. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) tests the water weekly; check its latest advisory before swimming.
