Tamarind Reef Beach is a small, palm-lined beach on the north shore of St. Croix's East End, beside Tamarind Reef Resort, Spa and Marina, facing Green Cay and Buck Island. From East End Road, follow the signs for Green Cay Marina and the resort: turn left up a small hill past an unstaffed guard shack, take the entrance on the right, turn left just inside the marina, and park along the water. The resort has restrooms, a restaurant and bar, a volleyball court, and cabana, chair and water-sports rentals; non-guests can rent chairs. Snorkeling is good just offshore, but parts of the beach are rocky. Pets and coolers are not allowed. You can paddle around Green Cay, watching for boats near the marina, but do not land: it is a wildlife refuge closed to the public. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources does not test the water here.

Services

  • Beach parking inside the marina entrance
  • Restrooms, restaurant and bar at the resort
  • Cabana, chair and water-sports rentals; chairs open to non-guests
  • Snorkeling just offshore
  • No pets or coolers
