Whale Point is a beach on Whale Bay, on the north side of St. Croix's far East End, a short way east of Boiler Bay and Cramer's Park. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) describes it as a marine protected area inside the St. Croix East End Marine Park. You reach the beach on foot, by a trail from a parking area at the top, which DPNR rebuilt with permeable pavers and a planted drainage area in work it called recently completed in April 2026. Driving on the trail is prohibited, because past use as a road washed sediment onto the reef. There are no facilities, so bring water, and no lifeguards are on duty. MySTCroix marks it as good for snorkeling. DPNR's project aims to protect the sea turtles and coral reef here, and DPNR does not test the water at this beach.

Source: DPNR Division of Territorial Parks and Protected Areas, 'Science Saturday: Whale Point Parking and Trail Improvements', https://dpnr.vi.gov/tppa-blogs/science-saturday-%d3%8f-whale-point-parking-and-trail-improvements/ (published April 11, 2026, updated July 29, 2026; marine protected area in the East End Marine Park, recently completed parking and trail work funded by NOAA's Coral Reef Conservation Program, prohibited past use of the trail as a roadway, pedestrian access to the beach, sediment into Whale Bay, sea turtles and coral reef); MySTCroix, https://mystcroix.vi/st-croix-beaches (copyright 2026; Whale Point listed as an East End beach with the no-facilities and good-snorkeling symbols; no lifeguards at St. Croix beaches); DPNR beach data, https://dpnr.vi.gov/beach-advisory/ and https://dpnr.vi.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Beach-Data-10.30.26.pdf (Whale Point is not a monitored beach); all accessed 2026-10-30. No source opened gives driving directions to the parking area or describes swimming conditions, so none are stated; a hiking mention on MySTCroix is only an image caption, so it is not used. Location relative to Boiler Bay and Cramer's Park is from the GNIS coordinates. Map point: GNIS feature 1994022 (Cape), 'Whale Point'; GNIS has no Beach or Bay feature for Whale Bay.
