Little Lameshur Bay

Little Lameshur Bay is a sandy beach in Virgin Islands National Park, about five miles from Coral Bay, beside rocky Great Lameshur Bay. Snorkeling is good along the rocky shores, especially off Yawzi Point between the two bays. Getting there is hard: local news reported in December 2025 that deep puddles made driving the unpaved road nearly impossible, and the park recommends four-wheel drive and notes that many rental car contracts forbid the road. The park and the Federal Highway Administration planned to rebuild it from September 2026 to February 2027, closing it so the bays could be reached only by boat. As of October 30, 2026, the park had posted no closure alert and no news report confirmed the work had begun, so call the park visitor center at 340-776-6201 before you go. There is no fee, a new toilet stands near the road, and no lifeguard is listed.
