Salt Pond Bay is a curving white-sand beach in Virgin Islands National Park, past Coral Bay at the end of the VITRAN bus route. From the parking lot, a short trail, uneven and rocky with a moderate slope, leads down to the sand, which slopes gently into clear water. Green sea turtles and southern stingrays live in the seagrass below the mooring field, and snorkelers follow the rocky edges of the bay. A trail behind the beach reaches the salt pond, where salt crusts the edges in some seasons, and the steep Ram Head Trail starts here. Facilities are basic: vault toilets, picnic tables and trash bins, with no fee. The park warns that the bus is unreliable on a tight schedule. Pets and glass are not allowed and no lifeguard is listed. After a drowning in June 2026, the park urged swimmers to stay alert and watch for boats.
