Bolongo Bay Beach
Bolongo Bay Beach

Bolongo Bay is a crescent of sand on the south coast of St. Thomas, about 8 miles from Cyril E. King Airport, fronted by Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, an all-inclusive hotel open since 1989. The bay is usually calm, with a mostly sandy bottom, scattered patches of seagrass and rock, and water clear enough to see the bottom. The resort's kayaks, paddleboards, Hobie Cat sailboats and snorkel gear are for its guests, and its Iggies Beach Bar & Grill lists hours of 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Under the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Act, beaches cannot be fenced off and the public has the right to use them, but the resort publishes no rules for day visitors, so call it at 340-775-1800 about parking and whether its bar serves non-guests. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) tests the water here weekly; check its latest advisory before swimming.

Services
