Love City Car Ferries

Love City Car Ferries, Inc. runs car barges that carry vehicles and passengers between Red Hook on St. Thomas and Cruz Bay on St. John, and the Virgin Islands Port Authority lists it as one of three companies on that route. For anyone living on St. John, a barge is the usual way to bring over a car, a moving truck or a delivery from St. Thomas. Its website says it operates daily, with a crossing of about 25 minutes, and asks drivers to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure, or earlier in peak season. Early sailings do not run on weekends and major holidays, some evening sailings are seasonal, and the last ferry from Red Hook leaves at 7:00 PM. Bookings can be made online, on the hour only. The Port Authority notes that tickets cannot be used on another company's barge.
