The Cinnamon Bay Nature Loop is an easy 0.5-mile walk through the ruins of the Cinnamon Bay sugar plantation in Virgin Islands National Park, across North Shore Road from the entrance to Cinnamon Bay Beach and Campground, about 4.3 miles from the Cruz Bay visitor center. Park in the beach lot. The first 0.09 mile is a 4-foot-wide concrete and wooden boardwalk with very little slope, suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, and park signs along it describe plantation life. The loop then climbs at a moderate slope on packed earth with roots and rocks, through shady bay rum and tyre palm, crosses the gut that once supplied the estate with water, and passes the above-ground tombs of the owner's wife, Anna Margarethe, and her children. The park estimates 30 to 60 minutes and notes good birding. There is no fee, and leashed dogs are allowed.
