The Tektite Trail runs 0.7 mile in Virgin Islands National Park along the ridge of Cabritte Horn Point, near Lameshur. The trailhead is on the south side of Lameshur Road at the first switchback, about 60 feet west of the top of the hill. The park describes a moderately strenuous climb, then a narrow, rocky path through desert-like country to coastal cliff views, and estimates 20 to 60 minutes. Bring water and sun protection, and expect little or no cell service. Reaching it depends on the unpaved Lameshur Road, where the park recommends four-wheel drive and many rental contracts forbid driving. The park and the Federal Highway Administration planned to close the road for rebuilding from September 2026 to February 2027, leaving boat access only. No closure alert was posted as of October 31, 2026, so call the park visitor center at 340-776-6201 on a weekday before going.
