The Yawzi Point Trail is a short, easy walk in Virgin Islands National Park along the crest of Yawzi Point, the spit of land between Great and Little Lameshur bays on St. John's south shore. The park gives 0.3 mile and 30 to 50 minutes. The narrow, rocky path with slight inclines passes stone ruins of homes from the Danish colonial period, and side trails lead to small rocky beaches that make quiet snorkel entries. It can be buggy early and late. Getting there is the hard part: the unpaved Lameshur Road calls for four-wheel drive, and many rental car contracts forbid it. The park and the Federal Highway Administration planned to close the road for rebuilding from September 2026 to February 2027, leaving boat access only. No closure alert was posted as of October 31, 2026, so call the park visitor center at 340-776-6201 on a weekday first.
