Big Beard's Adventure Tours runs boat trips to Buck Island Reef National Monument from its store at the bottom of Queen Cross Street, where the street meets the Christiansted boardwalk. The six-hour full-day tour leaves at 9:30 a.m., usually on the sailing catamaran Renegade: guests stop at Turtle Beach, snorkel the underwater trail in small groups with the crew, and finish with a barbecue lunch at the company's private beach on St. Croix. The half-day cruise, three to three and a half hours on a power catamaran, leaves twice a day for Turtle Beach and the trail, and a two-hour sunset cruise follows the shoreline. Snorkel gear, lessons and flotation vests are provided, there is no age limit, and non-swimmers may come. Tours run daily except a few holidays. Book online or by phone; cruise passengers should call. Full refunds need 48 hours' notice, and there are no hotel pickups.
