New Horizons and Breakaway Charters is a family-owned company on St. Thomas, in business for more than 40 years, that sells its trips as Island Adventures. Its Snorkel Cat trip leaves Margaritaville Resort at 10:30 a.m. and returns at 3:30 p.m., with two reef stops, breakfast, lunch, snacks and an open bar. A six-hour St. John snorkel trip boards at Sapphire Beach Marina or Margaritaville and visits reefs in Virgin Islands National Park, with meals and drinks. Two-hour sunset sails leave both places at 5 p.m. A guided night paddle in lighted double kayaks leaves the water sports hut at Elysian Beach Resort at 6:30 p.m. and lasts about 75 minutes; no experience is needed. Private charters use Breakaway, a 55-foot yacht for up to 32 guests, or the 40-foot New Horizons II for up to 18. Snorkel gear, including children's sizes, is provided. Departure points are confirmed at booking.
