Offshore Adventures is a sportfishing charter run by Captain Robert Richards, who has fished Virgin Islands waters for over 25 years, and his wife, Marni. Its 32-foot Mixed Bag II and 40-foot Mixed Bag III each take up to six passengers on trips of four, six, eight or 10 hours, picking up at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook, St. Thomas, or the National Park Dock in Cruz Bay, St. John. Inshore trips use live bait and light tackle for kingfish, snapper, blackfin tuna, barracuda and sharks and suit children; the minimum age is 5. Offshore trips work the North and South Drops for yellowfin tuna, wahoo, mahi and blue marlin. Bring lunch and drinks. The captain fillets up to 20 pounds of fish on half-day trips and 30 on longer ones; the boat keeps the rest. A card deposit holds the date, and cancellations need 48 hours' notice.
