Apothecary Hall Museum is a restored 19th-century Danish pharmacy at the corner of Company and Queen Cross streets in Christiansted, run by the St. Croix Landmarks Society. A Danish pharmacist opened it in 1820 to make medicines for the garrison in Christiansted, then the capital of the Danish West Indies, and it served St. Croix for more than 140 years. When the last owner retired in 1970, he gave his drug jars and equipment to the Society, and the restored pharmacy reopened in its original rooms in 1987. Inside are ornate apothecary bottles, drawers of dried and powdered medicines and antique pharmacy equipment. Admission is free. The Society's page for the museum lists hours of Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but the page was last updated in 2021, so call the Society before you go.

Source: St. Croix Landmarks Society, https://www.stcroixlandmarks.org/preservation/apothecary-hall-museum/ (founded 1820 for the garrison, served more than 140 years, 1970 donation, reopened 1987 in its original location, bottles, dried and powdered medicines and pharmacy equipment, free admission, Monday to Saturday hours), the site's page record for it, https://www.stcroixlandmarks.org/wp-json/wp/v2/pages?slug=apothecary-hall-museum (last modified February 24, 2021), and https://www.stcroixlandmarks.org/ (Society phone; copyright 2025); all accessed 2026-10-31. The page's holiday Saturday closures (December 24, December 31 and January 7) fit an earlier year and are not repeated. The Department of Tourism, https://www.visitusvi.com/experience/must-see-museums (accessed 2026-10-31), says the hall displays Indigenous pottery, axe heads, beads and a canoe, but the Society's own page describes that exhibit as a future plan of the St. Croix Archeological Society, so it is left out.
