Pirates Treasure Museum is a private, two-story shipwreck and pirate museum at 17-1 Estate Thomas in Charlotte Amalie. The museum says it shows artifacts and treasure from the deep-ocean finds of Odyssey Marine Exploration, along with Virgin Islands shipwrecks, gold and silver coins and ingots recovered from the sea, a shipwreck theater and interactive exhibits. The Department of Tourism adds a virtual storm-at-sea experience and displays on pirates such as Blackbeard and Captain Kidd, with cannons and sunken cargo. The museum store sells treasure coins and artifacts as well as souvenirs. The museum says it opens on cruise ship days, and Tourism lists hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday. It publishes no admission prices, and much of its website is unfinished, so call or email before you go to confirm it is open.
