Cane Bay, St. Croix

Cane Bay is a public beach on the north shore of St. Croix, about 5 miles west of Salt River Bay, popular for shore diving and snorkeling. Divers walk in to reach the Cane Bay Wall, where the sea floor drops away steeply, and snorkelers can rent gear and swim out to a coral garden. A dive center across the road offers lessons, guided shore and night dives and rentals, and several bars and restaurants open onto the beach. The Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation lists the beach and boat ramp among its facilities. Parking is limited, and weekends are busy: there is a small free lot at The Landing beach bar, and roadside parking is allowed unless signs say otherwise. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources found bacteria above its limit here in two weekly tests from August to October 2026; check its latest advisory before swimming.
