Cruz Bay Beach

Cruz Bay Beach is the town beach of Cruz Bay, St. John's main town and passenger ferry port, a few steps from the ferry dock. It runs along the waterfront at Wharfside Village, where The Beach Bar sits, and High Tide restaurant is on the sand by the dock. Boats dot the water offshore. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) tests the water here. In 2026 Cruz Bay failed DPNR's bacteria standard in three of its 11 tests, in the weeks ending January 16, January 23 and March 20, and passed the last one, on July 31. As of DPNR's October 30 advisory, St. John beaches had not been sampled since, so check the latest advisory before swimming. DPNR also advises avoiding water affected by stormwater runoff or heavy sargassum. No source lists lifeguards, public restrooms or a fee. Cruz Bay has several paid parking areas.
