Cruz Bay, St. John

Frank Bay is a small bay on the south side of Cruz Bay, beside Gallows Point. In May 2020, News of St. John put it about a five-minute walk from the passenger ferry dock and described it as a place to wade, take a short snorkel or watch the sunset, which in winter sets straight across the water. In March 2025 it reported that The Saint, a resort and day club, overlooks the bay. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) tests the water here, and Frank Bay passed all 11 of its 2026 tests, the last on July 31. As of DPNR's October 30 advisory, St. John beaches had not been sampled since, so check the latest advisory before swimming. DPNR also advises avoiding water affected by stormwater runoff or heavy sargassum. No source lists facilities, lifeguards or a fee. Cruz Bay has several paid parking areas.
