Johnson Bay, often called Johnson's Bay, is a beach on the west shore of Coral Bay, across from the Calabash Boom housing community. In 2019 the St. John Source described it as easy to reach by car and as the base of KATS (Kids and the Sea), a youth sailing and rowing program, when the Coral Bay Yacht Club held its fundraising flotilla here. Volunteers from the Coral Bay Community Council and KATS cleaned the beach in October 2023 and April 2024. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) tests the water, and Johnson Bay passed all 11 of its 2026 tests, the last on July 31. As of DPNR's October 30 advisory, St. John beaches had not been sampled since, so check the latest advisory before swimming. DPNR also advises avoiding water affected by stormwater runoff or heavy sargassum. No source lists facilities, parking, a fee or lifeguards.
