Hull Bay is a quiet beach on the Northside of St. Thomas, where local fishers keep small boats on moorings and use the public boat ramp. Sheltered by Tropaco Point, the bay is often calm enough for kayaks and paddleboards, though the Department of Tourism notes that rough Atlantic water also makes it one of the island's surf spots. Snorkelers head for the rocky reef along the western point, with patch reefs, small caves, lobster, rays and reef fish, and Caribbean Journal reported kayak, paddleboard and snorkel gear rentals at the beach in 2025. The Shack, a beachside restaurant and bar, opens Tuesday to Sunday, and the easy 1.7-mile Hull Bay Trail follows the rocky shoreline. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) tests the water here weekly; check its latest advisory before swimming.
