Lindquist Beach

Lindquist Beach, also spelled Lindqvist, is the beach of Smith Bay Park on the East End of St. Thomas, between Cabes Point and Coki Point, about a mile from Red Hook. The government bought it in 2007, and the Magens Bay Authority runs the park. Daily entry is $7 for nonresidents and $2 for residents with a local ID, children under 12 are free, and parking is $2 per car. The Department of Tourism gives hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, but the Authority's website posts only Magens Bay's hours, so call 340-777-6300 to confirm. Tourism also lists lifeguards, restrooms with showers and changing stalls, and rinse stations, and the Authority rents chairs, umbrellas, cabanas and event sheds. The water is usually calm, with turtles and rays; there are no food vendors or snorkel rentals. The Department of Planning and Natural Resources tests the water weekly.
