1864 The Restaurant

1864 The Restaurant is an open-air seafood restaurant in Mongoose Junction, the outdoor shopping center in Cruz Bay, St. John. From Monday to Saturday it runs a raw bar and happy hour from 3 to 5 p.m., with oysters, shrimp cocktail and crab cakes, then serves dinner from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The 2026 dinner menu mixes seafood with Asian and Caribbean touches: conch fritters, a saffron seafood risotto with Caribbean lobster tail, seared yellowfin tuna over local cassava mofongo and a 12-ounce ribeye. In season there is also a sushi lunch, Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., which was closed for the off-season in late October 2026; in 2025 the whole restaurant closed from August 29 to October 3. Book through Resy up to 30 days ahead or by phone; parties of seven or more need to call and hold the table with a credit card.
