The Beach Bar

The Beach Bar is a long-running bar and restaurant on the sand at Wharfside Village in Cruz Bay, St. John. Live music is a large part of it: local and visiting bands and singer-songwriters play almost every night, covering rock, island music, bluegrass and more. It opens daily at 8:30 a.m. for brunch, served until 11 a.m., with breakfast bowls, tacos and burritos, chicken or beef pates, avocado toast and chicken and johnny cakes. From 11 a.m. the menu turns to burgers, conch fritters, fish and shrimp baskets, tuna bites, tacos and poke bowls, with painkillers and bushwhackers at the bar. Happy hours run from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 7 p.m. The website gives no closing time; the tourism department lists midnight. It stayed open through the 2025 slow season, and it streams two webcams, one of the beach and one of its stage.
