Vehicle registration and driver's licenses

Moving and settling in, public services listed for reference

The Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) handles vehicle registration, titles, inspections, driver's licenses and identification cards in the territory, with an office on each island. New residents who ship a car to the islands register it with the BMV, and the bureau lists the documents it needs, including the title and proof of insurance. Many services, such as renewals and appointments, can be started online. Check the bureau's current requirements and hours before you visit, since they change from time to time. We list the BMV offices for reference, with the date we last verified each one.
